Clinics & Services
Antenatal Clinics: Wednesday 08:45 - 15:00
Patients are seen by a midwife at the clinic by appointment. The initial appointment is in the morning and is a 1hr long appointment, with all follow up appointments in the afternoon which are 15 minute appointments.
Baby Immunisation Clinic: Wednesday 13:15 - 14:30
A weekly immunisation programme is run by a Practice Nurse for all baby and pre-school immunisations. A Health Visitor is also available at this clinic to weigh babies. First immunisations are given at six to eight weeks old and the doctor will also conduct child development checks at this time. This clinic is by appointment only.
A well baby clinic is run by health visitors, who check your baby’s weight etc., and give you an opportunity to discuss other problems (such as sleeping, feeding and child health worries). This clinic is run at the same time as the immunisation clinic and is by appointment only.
We offer asthma review appointments with a Healthcare Assistant or Practice Nurse. It is very important that patients are reviewed regularly to discuss any problems they may have and to optimise treatment. Asthma treatment is constantly advancing. We aim to keep you up to date, improve your understanding and minimise the affect your asthma has on you. We strongly recommend all patients with asthma should attend at least annually. Please be aware that if you try to order inhalers but are not up-to-date with your asthma reviews, the Practice Nurse may not issue the inhalers until you have been reviewed.
Diabetic Clinic: Wednesday 10:15 - 12:15
Long-term complications of diabetes are minimised or avoided by good diabetic care and control. Diabetic clinics are by appointment only and are run by our specially trained nurses. It is important that our diabetic patients attend for regular review appointments.
Contraception care is provided by all doctors and nurses during normal surgery hours. Doctors within the practice insert I.U.D.s and contraception implants. Please be aware that you may be put on a short waiting list to have a coil or implant fitted.
Dr Afzal and Dr Ahmed carry out Minor Surgery Injections by appointment. Please discuss this with a doctor at your next convenient appointment.
You will need to fill in a form (available either from reception, or by clicking on the 'Travel Vaccinations' tab above) detailing when and where you are travelling. This form is passed to the nurse, and you will then have to contact the surgery seven days later to check whether you need to book in for any vaccinations. To ensure adequate protection, it is advised to have all immunisations at least eight weeks before travel.
Please note that there is now an admin charge of £15 + VAT for travel vaccinations. We accept cash or cheque only.
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, or who have diabetes, or are over 65 years old, or are carers, or are residents in nursing and rest homes. Patients in these categories will need to book into a flu clinic which are held around October time. Please look out for information on this website, or in the surgery.
